Code of Conduct
Hard Fork Community Development (HFCD) and its events asks that you follow its Code of Conduct. Access to events is conditional based on your compliance with the Code of Conduct. We have a Code of Conduct so people understand what is allowed and not allowed.
The rules
- Do not express or engage with remarks relating to discrimination relating to skin color, ethnicity, race, national origin, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, socioeconomic class status, or any other inherent characteristics.
- Respect other people's personal space and what they are comfortable with. Please do not stalk, harass people, or give people unwanted sexual attention. If someone asks you to leave them alone, please do so.
- Please do not film or publish photos with identifiable people without their permission.
- Assume good faith. Try not to assume other people are coming after you because most likely, they aren't.
- Please respect spaces, leave them as you found them and clean after yourself.
- In regards to conversations: please do not derail them (stay on topic) and keep an open mind. You should also avoid talking about heavy topics where it is not appropriate (e.g., in a large setting).
- Please do not spam, advertise, or send solicitations. Obviously, you can share your personal projects but don't be annoying about it (i.e., do so sparingly).
- Respect differences of opinions.
- Politics should be kept to a minimum. Oftentimes, they not actionable and lead to conflict that is unnecessary.
If you are asked to stop, please do so. If your behavior persists, you may be ejected from the event without a refund. For serious violations, you may be ejected without a warning.
